Talk is cheap, they say and empty barrels make the most noise, however silence is not golden when it is time to talk! 2027 is around the corner and now is as good a time as any to talk the walk, as much as it is necessary to walk the talk. How many votes will be registered from Oyo State for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue until 2031 as the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces? Back in 2023 it was 449,889 votes. Out of those, Oluyole LGA contributed 16,891. Alh Kehinde Olaosebikan, former two-time Chairman of Oluyole LGA says the local council will triple votes for Tinubu in 2027.

A man is as good as his words and how seriously a man’s words are taken depends on who he is, where he has been, his antecedents and what experience he can lay claim to. Alh Olaosebikan is not new to elections. He won his own personal election, when he was elected Executive Chairman of Oluyole LGA as far back as 2007. In 2023, he served as the South West Zonal Coordinator for Media and Publicity of the All Progressive Congress, APC Presidential Campaign. This means, beyond Oluyole LGA, he had a role to play in delivering the 449,884 votes from Oyo State. Alh Olaosebikan has the political experience and grassroots presence needed to mobilize and triple votes for Tinubu in 2027.

The reactions to Alh Olaosebikan’s assertion from the grassroots has been tremendous. Predictably, notable national figures have taken notice. Ishaq Samaila, Special Assistant (Media), Office of Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters recognised that Oluyole LGA has blazed the trail in the mobilisation of support for Tinubu. On X he enthused, “BREAKING: Oluyole LGA is going all out for President Tinubu in 2027. Former Oluyole LG Chairman, Kehinde Olaosebikan, says the council will TRIPLE its votes for Tinubu and APC. APC already secured 14,891 votes in Oluyole in 2023, part of the 449,884 votes that delivered Oyo for the party in the South-West. 2027 is shaping up early.”

In the meanwhile, Alh Olaosebikan, the Convener, PBAT-KO, a grassroots movement, rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, looks good to keep his word and to deliver on his promise to triple votes for Tinubu in 2027. A man of his pedigree is not to be taken lightly.
