Christmas 2025: America Bombs Terrorists

It was on October 31, about two months to Christmas Day 2025 that the President of the United States of America, POTUS,  Donald Trump announced Nigeria’s redesignation as ‘Country of Particular Concern’. After much posturing and grandstanding, the promised action kicked off on the night of Christmas 2025 with strikes as America bombs terrorists in Sokoto state, Nigeria. This was announced by Trump and confirmed by the Nigerian government.

It is commendable that the POTUS made good his promise to take action against terrorists in Nigeria and this firepower as America bombs terrorists in Nigeria, in addition to the valiant efforts of the Nigerian army and air forces, will go a long way to decimate the capabilities of terrorists and disrupt the logistics and networks that has allowed them to roam free, kidnapping truckloads of school children at will, laying siege to communities for hours and wiping out its occupants for whatever diabolical reasons they may have. Henceforth, we expect that videos of bandits holding lavish wedding ceremonies and stories of their extorting whole communities and exacting tax from the residents will become a thing of the past.

Although there are those who doubt Trump’s and the United States’ altruistic intentions as much as they question his ‘defender of Nigerian Christians’, posture, it is hoped that United States’ intervention will speed up progress on ridding Nigeria of these unsavoury elements and quickening the return of peace and security to the Nigerian rural communities and farmsteads.

It should however be noted that reports of possible collateral damage in Offa, Kwara state, as a result of a American bombs on terrorists in Sokoto state, a distance of approximately 600 – 700 kilometers, is alarming. It is expected that the US Army operatives at the business end of this military action, should be more precise and clinical in their strikes. Nigerian cities and citizens should not have to worry about misplaced bombs and errant drones, as America bombs terrorists in assistance of the Nigerian government and people.

This obvious end to the ignoble era of coddling terrorists, allowing them visits to and by elected government officials; prioritizing non-kinetic options and generally keeping them in business should send direct signals to their urban counterparts who dwell and operate where Trump’s bombs and drones cannot be allowed to target, that the honeymoon is over. The same philosophy of ‘no negotiations and no compromise’ should be brought to bear on those who have made kidnapping into a thriving business and created an industry out of preying on vulnerable and unsuspecting Nigerians.
